Furever Nevada Foundation was founded by Andrew, a passionate dog advocate who has witnessed first-hand the experience of senior dogs in shelter environments.
Senior shelter dogs (even the perfectly healthy ones) face a harsh reality. Not only are they overlooked for adoption, they can also be put down for a number of reasons, including lack of space and medical expenses that strain the resources of local shelters. In turn, their final moments are spent feeling scared and unsure in an often emotionless environment.
Andrew launched the Furever Nevada Foundation to give senior dogs a chance to live out their days in a home filled with love and dignity. Through his continued volunteer work, Andrew is inspired by the gratitude senior dogs show when they discover a new quality of life with humans who truly cherish them.
The mission of Furever Nevada Foundation is to give neglected, senior dogs in southern Nevada a comfortable, safe, and loving environment. While our ultimate goal is to find these pups their furever home through adoption, they are welcome to live out their days with comfort and companionship at our facility.
I've been with Furever Nevada since the beginning, and it's been an amazing journey watching the rescue grow and seeing so many senior dogs get the happy endings they deserve. Caregiving is my calling, and helping dogs is my passion, so I truly couldn't ask for a better way to spend my days. Outside of the rescue, you'll usually find me spending time with my husband and our three wonderful kids.
Grew up in southwest Washington and spent summers at the family’s dairy farm in Mt Vernon. Graduated from the University of Washington in 1994 and traveled abroad professionally until 2005. Settled in Hood River, Oregon, and raised 2 children. Worked at the Clackamas Petco dog grooming salon as a bather from 2012 to 2016. Recently moved to Nevada, where she found a place that she fits, with Furever Nevada, senior dog rescue.
Growing up with dogs inspired Haya's lifelong love for animals, which grew into a passion for animal welfare and rescue. She is dedicated to helping rescue dogs find their forever families and believes every dog deserves a loving home. In her free time, she enjoys exploring dog-friendly brunch spots around Las Vegas with her rescue dog, Bobbi.
